Practice Owner
Richard J. Smolen , DVM
Dr. Smolen graduated from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1969 and worked in Louisville, Kentucky and Pittsburgh starting Duncan Manor Animal Hospital in June of 1973. Dr Smolen is one of a group of veterinarians who help establish the Veterinary emergency Clinic in 1995. Surgery and general patient healthcare are of special interest to Dr. Smolen. During his free time, Dr Smolen enjoys fishing, hiking and traveling. Recently he has been involved with the Native American Project and has traveled to several indian reservations in Arizona to provide veterinary care through spaying and neutering pets, vaccinations, and general care. Dr. Smolen and his wife have two sons, one of which is a veterinarian here at Duncan Manor Animal Hospital. A Golden Retriever and two cats are also part of the Smolen family. Dr. Smolen enjoys surgery and feline medicine.

Dr. Sara Schamberger , DVM | Dr.Sara Schamberger graduated
from the University of Minnesota Veterinary School in 2004 and joined
Duncan Manor Animal Hospital in 2005. When not working she is at home
with her husband and two furry felines. She enjoys hobbies such as
gardening, knitting, designing cards and stamping. |  View |
Lacey Davis , DVM

Lacey Davis received a bachlelor’s degree from Ohio State University and obtained a doctorate of veterinary medicine from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine. She then went on to perform a small animal rotating medicine and surgery internship at Louisiana State University. She is owned by three dogs, two cats, and a goat and loves to read, hike, skydive, and water water raft in her free time.  View |
Amanda Della Penna , DVM

Dr. Della Penna received a bachelor’s degree in biology from
Bethany College
in Bethany, WV.
She then earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State
University College of Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Della Penna has two cats, Dante and Giuseppe. In her free time, she enjoys working out,
wakeboarding, snowboarding, and sporting events.

Dr. Kathy Dougherty , DVM Dr. Dougherty is a graduate of Auburn Veterinary School and has
practiced in Pittsburgh since 1988. She has received the Pennsylvania
Veterinarian of the Year Award for establishing the Pet Assisted
Therapy program at Children's Hospital. When not working , Dr.
Dougherty is kept busy with family activities, gardening, kayaking, and
Temple activities. When she needs to slow down a bit, she enjoys
reading and walking. She and her husband have two children.
